Title: A High Statistics,
Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering Experiment in the NuMI Beam at Fermilab
Abstract:
The extremely intense NuMI neutrino beam at Fermilab, constructed for
the MINOS Neutrino Oscillation Experiment, enables a high-statistics
scattering experiment to study many topics of interest to both nuclear
and particle physicists. A proposal to put a fine-grained
scintillator detector directly upstream of the MINOS near detector
will be presented. The NuMI facility, beam, proposed detector, physics
topics, costs and schedule will be discussed.
