Abstract: The effects of relativistic degrees of freedom and lepton asymmetries on the CMB and BBN are discussed. Constraints from WMAP data and light element abundance measurements are quantified. The viability of the sterile neutrino required to explain the LSND anomaly is briefly addressed.
