Abstract: In many modern string theory models of particle physics, gauge dynamics is localized on lower-dimensional defects such as D-branes. The SUSY-breaking sector can and generically will be physically separated from the standard model sector. We will describe the generic mechanism for communicating SUSY breaking in these models.
