Title: Recent
Measurements of Penguin Processes in B Meson
Decays
Abstract: Since the
discovery of CP violation in the B meson system, the Babar experiment
at the SLAC B Factory has continued to explore additional CP violating
effects. In particular two types of decays, where the so-called
penguin diagrams are important, are of great current interest: B->pi
pi decays and b->sssbar decays. A second CP violating angle, in
addition to the angle beta already measured, will eventually be
measured using the B->pipi decays. Decays of the type b->sssbar have
great potential for observing CP violating effects beyond the Standard
Model. Recent measurements by Babar for both these transitions will
be presented.
