Title: Patterns
in SNO
Abstract: I will present
results from the Salt Phase of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory. In
this phase, NaCl was added to the heavy water of SNO to enhance the
detection of neutrons. This creates a difference between
the topography of the neutron and electron signals. I will show
how a parameterization of the isotropy of events may be used to
statistically separate the two signals. From the neutron signal, we
derive a model-independent measure of the flux of Boron-8 solar
neutrinos. The implications of the result will be discussed in
the context of neutrino oscillations.
