Title:
Inside the Neutrino Matrix with the Double Chooz Experiment
Abstract:
The measurement of the last unknown active neutrino mixing angle
(theta-13) is a top priority for High Energy Physics over the next 4-5
years. Until this is measured, it is not known whether it is feasible
or not to solve the neutrino mass hierarchy problem or to look for CP
violation in long baseline experiments. One way to attack this problem
is by doing a precision medium-baseline reactor neutrino experiment.
A European-American collaboration is proposing to do just this at an
existing Chooz neutrino physics lab. It's Double Fast. It's Double
Cheap. It's Double Chooz.
