Abstract: It is known that models of low energy supersymmetry and models with universal extra dimensions (UED) have similar signatures at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. I will discuss methods for experimentally discriminating between these two possibilities at colliders. Time permitting, I will also talk about the properties of dark matter in UED models and the prospects for its direct detection.
