SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California at Irvine invites applications for a tenure-track position in theoretical particle physics. The appointment is at the rank of assistant or associate professor, although exceptional candidates at more senior levels will be considered. This position continues an ongoing and vigorous program of expansion in particle physics and cosmology under which 14 new faculty have been appointed in recent years. Candidates will be considered in all areas of theoretical particle physics, including the physics of the standard model and beyond, neutrino physics, collider physics, string theory and quantum gravity, astroparticle physics, and closely related areas of astrophysics and cosmology. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent, and is expected to establish a dynamic research program and participate effectively in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
