Mu-Chun Chen
Associate Professor of physics and astronomy
Professor Mu-Chun Chen is a theoretical particle physicist. Her research has been focusing on the origin of fermion masses, mixing pattern, and CP violation, for both quarks and leptons, including the neutrinos. In addition, she is interested in new physics at the TeV scale and their implications for the LHC. After receiving her BS in 1996 from the National Taiwan University and PhD in 2002 from the University of Colorado at Boulder, she became a research associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory from 2002-2005 and at Fermilab from 2005-2006. Professor Chen has been on the faculty of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California at Irvine since 2006.
